PRSA National
With the vision to unify, strengthen and advance the profession of public relations, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) has established itself as the pre-eminent organization that builds value, demand and global understanding for public relations. PRSA is the world’s largest organization for public relations professionals. Its nearly 20,000 members, organized into 116 chapters, represent business and industry, technology, counseling firms, government, associations, hospitals, schools, professional services firms and nonprofit organizations. Chartered in 1947, PRSA’s primary objectives are to advance the standards of the public relations profession and to provide members with professional development opportunities through continuing education programs, information exchange forums and research projects conducted on the national and local levels.

PRSA North Pacific District
The North Pacific District serves 16 chapters in eight states -- Alaska, California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. Districts serve to bring the needs and requests of individual chapters forward to the Public Relations Society of America, through meetings with the national board of directors and through nominating committee duties throughout the year.

Oregon Capital Chapter
Chartered in October 2000, the Oregon Capital Chapter is the newest Oregon chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. Based in Salem, the chapter provides networking and educational opportunities for public relations professionals in the Willamette Valley corridor. Visitors are welcome at the chapter's monthly luncheon meetings on the first Wednesday of each month, as well as at special events.

Portland Metro Chapter
Nearly 40 years old, the Portland Metro Chapter is the largest communications association in the greater Portland-Vancouver metropolitan area. Our more than 250 members represent business and industry, counseling firms, government, associations, hospitals, schools, professional service firms and nonprofit organizations. The chapter's Power Luncheons feature topics of general interest to practitioners from every field of the public relations profession. Power Luncheons are held the third Wednesday of each month. In addition to the Power Luncheons, PRSA offers a variety of other professional development and networking opportunities. These include Afterhours events, Media Breakfasts, Career Quest Workshops and day-long national seminars.

PRSSA
In 1968, 20 years after its own establishment, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) founded the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA). The declared purpose of PRSSA is to cultivate a favorable and mutually advantageous relationship between students and professional public relations practitioners. The University of Oregon chapter of PRSSA boasts a membership of over 50 students and has been active at the UO since 1974.

American Marketing Association (AMA)
Founded in 1938, The American Marketing Association (AMA) is the largest marketing association in the world, with over 40,000 members in 92 countries. There are 75 professional chapters and 250 collegiate chapters across North America. AMA promotes continuing education, personal and professional development, and the advancement of the science and ethical practice of marketing. In the Eugene area, the Southwest Oregon AMA chapter is the leading organization for professional marketers. With continuous membership growth, monthly luncheon presentations by experienced marketing pros from across the Northwest and beyond, and a host of other local benefits, including a members-only on-line directory, the chapter is consistently rated one of the best of its size in the country, winning numerous national excellence awards in the last five years.
